Hello!
I’m a researcher, writer, teacher, data analyst, designer, and activist dedicated to neighborhood flourishing. Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Beloved Community”, a vision of society living together with diversity and without violence, I am passionate about building just, connected, and diverse communities where every child can thrive. I collaborate with local organizations, government, and residents to enhance public safety, health and wellness, education, and more in U.S. neighborhoods. I prioritize equity in my work and have published a seminal article on how other researchers can do the same. Collectively, these experiences have led me to a holistic, equity-oriented, and place-based approach to neighborhood revitalization.
I’m a proud resident of East Atlanta Village, a neighborhood in Atlanta, Georgia. For research publications, please see my Google Scholar page. For speaking engagements, collaborations, and consulting, please email me at ichordia[at]uw.edu.
