Hello!
I’m a researcher, writer, teacher, data analyst, designer, and activist dedicated to neighborhood flourishing. Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Beloved Community”, a vision of society living together with diversity and without violence, I am passionate about building just, connected, and diverse communities where every child can thrive. I collaborate with local organizations, government, and residents to enhance public safety, health and wellness, education, and more in U.S. neighborhoods. I prioritize equity in my work and have published a seminal article on how other researchers can do the same. Collectively, these experiences have led me to a holistic, equity-oriented, and place-based approach to neighborhood revitalization.
I currently serve as the Associate Director at the Center for Urban Research in the School of Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology. For research publications, please see my Google Scholar page. For speaking engagements, collaborations, and consulting, please email me at ichordia[at]uw.edu.
